Good point. However, these recommended tracking software enjoy a healthy success percentage. Most of them feature a 'Stealth mode' which makes the software invisible to the prying eyes of the thief. You should not forget to turn that mode on. And still, they're worth a try. Better something than nothing. Don't forget, even the most careful person is bound to make mistakes sometime, and one mistake is all it takes for the thief to be tracked down.

All these are useless as first thing a thief will do is to format your computer or they will run it without any internet connection.

For mobile they will reinstall or change IMEI number
